The Maldives Culture & Food Festival 2025 is being hosted by Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Environment (MOTE) and the Housing Development Corporation (HDC), with Bank of Maldives (BML) lending its support as the festival’s main sponsor.
This year’s festival arrives at a milestone moment for the Maldives. The year 2025 stands out as one of the most successful periods in the history of the nation’s tourism sector. Tourist arrivals surpassed two million earlier than ever before, tourism revenue is projected to exceed USD 5.8 billion, and the country was crowned the World’s Leading Destination for the sixth year running-an achievement unmatched by any other nation.
Against this backdrop, the festival offers a platform to recognise the role of communities, industry professionals, and partners who contributed to these achievements. It also creates a space to close the year together in a spirit of shared pride and celebration.
Across three days, the festival presents an extensive lineup of experiences tailored to families, locals, and international visitors. Children’s zones include bouncy castles, climbing walls, gaming arcades, and foam parties, while culinary showcases feature Maldivian classics and creative fusion dishes prepared by local vendors. Cultural performances highlight the nation’s rich heritage through traditional Boduberu during the day, followed by modern bands and live music in the evenings.
Visitors can also explore interactive entertainment zones offering vehicle displays, watersports activities, and family-friendly attractions throughout the venue. Special moments across the programme include a drone show, a New Year’s Eve fireworks spectacle, and the official countdown to 2026, drawing crowds together for a festive finale.
More than a cultural showcase, the Maldives Culture & Food Festival 2025 underscores the importance of cultural preservation, tourism excellence, and community participation. It reflects the ongoing commitment of national partners to fostering creativity, engagement, and inclusive celebration.
Open to the public, the festival invites residents and guests to join the festivities beginning this evening at Hulhumalé Central Park.
