Located on the white sandy beaches and seemingly endless crystal clear lagoon of Kudafolhudhoo Island, Nika Island Resort is named after the majestic banyan tree called “Nika” in Dhivehi. Located 74 km from Male International Airport, this is the only island in the Maldives where you find private beaches in each bungalow.
Accommodation includes 37 Villas – 13 Sunset Beach Villas, 13 Beach Villas, 1 Sultan Suite and 10 Water Villas.
The spacious beach bungalows and suite stand on the beachfront, just few metres from the sea, giving them direct access to the private beach. The recently built water apartments are located in the lagoon. Each of them comprises three separate rooms, bedroom, sitting room and bathroom. The uniqueness of these water apartments is their three split levels. The first and lowest level just touches the sea. Beach Bungalows consists of a bedroom, sitting room, and a bathroom, the three rooms arranged in the shape of a shell. The sitting room leads to your private beach with lounging accessories. The Sultan Suite is ideal for families and has a large sitting room with direct access to the large beach.
Italian, International and Maldivian cuisine is served and buffet-style at lunch and à la carte at dinner. Also offered is a selection of over 60 wines. Maldivian buffet and barbecues are served twice a week. The coffee shop offers light snacks, ice cream and alcoholic beverages and is the place to relax, have a delicious cocktail, listen to music…
The Ayurvedic centre offers a range of refreshing Ayurvedic treatments, which can also be enjoyed in the comfort of your private beach.

Nika’s repetorie of sporting activities include wind surfing, beach volley, canoeing, badminton, tennis and bocce ball. For those who love fishing, Nika Island Resort offers a fully furnished dhoni (local boat) with the latest international fishing equipments and professional crew on board. Big game fishing is also on offer, on boats equipped with ‘battle’ chairs and fishing rods for you to enjoy a unique fishing experience. Nika is surrounded by some of the most wonderful dive sites in Ari Atoll and one can avail of the diving lessons by highly qualified European instructors.
A unique Nika island experience available on request is the ‘Renewal of Vows’. In this day-long ceremony headed by the elder of the island, the groom receives the bride who arrives in the traditional dhoni, presenting her with a bouquet of flowers. A short ceremony to exchange vows is followed by champagne and canapés, a cake-cutting ritual and finally a candlelit exclusive barbeque on the bungalow’s private beach.
