The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort has announced the return of its acclaimed Tastemaker Series for 2026, bringing together renowned international talents across culinary arts, wine, mixology, wellness, and professional sports. The program reinforces the resort’s role as a destination where artistry and expertise meet, offering guests exclusive access to leading practitioners in intimate, immersive settings.
Culinary Excellence and Beverage Mastery
The series launches in January with Italian chef Gianluca Renzi, whose residency includes wine-paired dining experiences, a hands-on gnocchi workshop, and an oceanfront signature dinner that blends traditional Italian cooking with modern sensibilities.
February brings dual beverage-focused experiences. Felice Capasso, named World Class Global Bartender of the Year 2025, will lead a bar takeover and masterclass at The Whale Bar, exploring the storytelling potential of spirits and cocktail craft. Following this, Romaric Chavy of Domaine Chavy-Chouet will introduce guests to Burgundy’s winemaking tradition through a guided tasting and paired dinner, highlighting the terroir and refinement of the French region.
April features Michelin-starred British chef Glynn Purnell, who will present modern British cuisine through a signature dinner, cooking demonstration, and special event at The Whale Bar, showcasing technical skill paired with approachable hospitality.
Wellness and Athletic Programming
Running from February 9-23, wellness practitioner Akiko Igarashi returns with holistic therapies including Reiki sessions, Tibetan Singing Bowl healing, and customized couples’ treatments aimed at promoting relaxation and emotional well-being.
March welcomes former World No. 1 tennis champion Angelique Kerber, who will offer private coaching, a children’s clinic, on-court sessions, and casual guest interactions, bringing Grand Slam-level expertise to players at all skill levels.
In May, the series concludes with tennis veteran Feliciano López, a former World No. 12 who holds the Open Era record for consecutive Grand Slam main-draw appearances. A doubles Grand Slam champion and Davis Cup contributor, López will conduct advanced coaching sessions covering technique, court movement, and competitive strategy within the island environment.
