Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC) has partnered with the National Hotel and Guesthouse Association of Maldives (NHGAM) to launch the “I AM Maldives” Roadshow 2025 in Central and Eastern Europe-a strategic initiative aimed at strengthening the Maldives’ presence in three fast-growing markets: Poland, Romania, and the Czech Republic.
Organised jointly with NHGAM, the roadshow serves as a targeted platform to reinforce business ties, boost destination visibility, and position the Maldives as a top choice for travellers across the region. The event will be held in Warsaw (17 November), Bucharest (19 November), and Prague (21 November), bringing together travel agencies, tour operators, media representatives, and other industry professionals.
With 26 participating exhibitors, including resorts, guesthouses, liveaboards, hotels, and travel agencies, the “I AM Maldives” Roadshow highlights the destination’s renowned hospitality, luxury offerings, and community-led tourism experiences. Through tailored presentations, B2B meetings, and networking sessions, Maldivian tourism stakeholders will have direct engagement with key partners in Central and Eastern Europe.
“The response from the Polish travel community has been exceptional,” said Abdulla Nasheed, President of NHGAM. “We’re seeing strong interest in the authentic Maldivian experience-from community-focused tourism on local islands to world-class resort stays. This roadshow allows us to showcase the diversity of our tourism products while building meaningful partnerships that drive long-term business growth.”
“The ‘I AM Maldives’ Roadshow reflects our strategic focus on emerging European markets with significant growth potential,” said Ibrahim Shiuree, CEO and Managing Director of Visit Maldives Corporation. “By deepening relationships and enhancing awareness among regional travel trade, we aim to inspire more travellers from Poland, Romania, and the Czech Republic to discover the Maldives’ distinct blend of natural beauty, cultural richness, and luxury.”
The initiative aligns with VMC’s broader objective of achieving the national tourism target of 2.3 million arrivals in 2025. As of 30 September 2025, the Maldives welcomed 86,860 visitors from Central and Eastern Europe, surpassing the 86,574 arrivals recorded during the same period in 2024, signalling continued upward momentum from the region.
Beyond market expansion, the roadshow also seeks to deliver destination training, share updated travel insights, and gather market intelligence to inform future promotional strategies.
