Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives), in partnership with Singapore Airlines, is hosting an exclusive familiarisation trip for leading Japanese travel trade representatives from 31 May to 5 June 2025. The initiative is designed to elevate destination awareness and position the Maldives as a top choice for family travel and wellness tourism in the Japanese market.
Participants are experiencing the Maldives’ exceptional offerings at Centara Ras Fushi Maldives and Pullman Maldives Maamutaa, with curated activities showcasing family-friendly facilities, wellness programmes, and the natural island charm that defines the destination. The trip aims to foster stronger partnerships with the Japanese travel industry and support the development of targeted travel products that will stimulate future bookings.
As of 22 April 2025, the Maldives recorded 12,157 arrivals from Japan. Building on this momentum, the familiarisation trip complements MMPRC’s existing promotional efforts, including successful PR campaigns and the recent JOTC Quarterly Webinar. A strong calendar of upcoming activities continues to reinforce market presence, ranging from media and influencer familiarisation trips to joint initiatives with key tour operators and a dedicated Maldives Roadshow in the Far East.
MMPRC remains committed to promoting the Maldives as the world’s leading destination for wellness and family travel, delivering tailored experiences that inspire Japanese travellers to discover the country’s unique and diverse offerings.
