Raffles Hotels & Resorts will manage a 9-villa luxury resort, Raffles Resort Konottaa, its first venture in the Maldives. Scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2011, Raffles Resort Konottaa is Raffles Hotels & Resorts first venture in the Maldives. The 9-villa luxury resort is located at the pristine and the newly-developed Gaafu Alifu atoll, south of the Maldives. The resort owned and developed by Platinum Capital Holdings Pvt Ltd.will feature 49 duplex villas, all with individual plunge pools. The duplex villas will include 22 over-the-water villas with an additional Jacuzzi pool, afford great privacy and offer spectacular ocean views.
Spread over an expansive 116 to 350 square metres, the resort is designed with a contemporary edge, yet embracing the best of Maldivian architecture.The Raffles’ Amrita Spa will offer pampering luxury treatments. Guests can choose from varied dining options and many like the specialty restaurant, an all-day casual dining restaurant or at the elegant Grill Room for exquisite fine dining and enjoy signature cocktails at the Main Bar which overlooks breathtaking ocean vistas.
The resort will have an extensive library of DVDs. Those who want some action can practice on a golf simulator, play tennis, scuba dive or snorkel at some of the most untouched and spectacular coral reefs in the Maldives. Other water sports will include catamaran sailing and deep-sea fishing.
Raffles Resort Konottaa can be reached by a 50-minute flight from Male to Kaadedhdhoo airport, and then getting on to the well-appointed Raffles speedboat for a relaxed 15-minute ride to the resort paradise.
